Every card has four ways to be played. You only need three to win.

The trick is in the corner.

Every card in 3·4·5 has four elements: a color in one corner, a number in another, a letter, and a pictogram. That means every card can be played four different ways depending on what you're building.

You're making designs with three or more cards that share something. A set of one color. A run of numbers in sequence. A word spelled out across letter corners. A matched group of pictograms. Mix and match across your hand to find combinations no one else sees.

To go out, you need three designs played in front of you: one of at least 3 cards, one of at least 4, and one of at least 5. Get there first and the hand ends.

The math is simple. The choices aren't.

Father Geek Space Nexus Review

Space Nexus received a triple seal of approval from Father Geek! It is Child Geek approved, Parent Geek approved, AND Gamer Geek approved.

"Do try Space Nexus when you get a chance. One game provided all of my players with different experiences, joys, frustrations, and ultimately, cheers. It is seldom that we are provided a game that allows for various types of play and still keeps everyone interested." - Father Geek

TWO GAME MODES IN ONE BOX

space nexus to boldly go

Earth has finally reached the stars, slowly and not without risk. Each player is a ship captain trying to prove they are the most daring and efficient explorer in the galaxy.

You will:

  • Build a galaxy with modular hex tiles starting from Earth

  • Roll colored dice to move ships along matching space lanes

  • Zip through wormholes at just the right time

  • Land on Nexuses to collect face down trophies with special powers

  • Zap rival ships out of key positions and send them back to other Nexuses

  • Race to multiple goal cards to claim victory

The first player to guide all of their ships to different goals wins the game.

To Boldly Go feels like:

  • A fast, interactive space race

  • Lots of “I got there just before you” moments

  • Tactical choices without heavy rules overhead

space nexus alien onslaught

Your exploration has drawn attention. The alien Tovar Imperium has decided Earth will be its newest vassal state. Fleets of alien ships are warping into the Nexus, marching relentlessly toward your home.

You and your fellow captains must:

  • Lay out the galaxy with Earth at the center and invasion points at the edges

  • Deploy Earth ships from multiple players to intercept alien fleets

  • Reveal and resolve Movement, Defender, and Combat cards each round

  • Use the dedicated Combat Board to track ship strengths, modifiers, and outcomes

  • Earn Defender of Earth medallions for key victories

  • Survive wave after wave of alien fleets before they reach Earth

Alien fleets grow stronger by combining colors, matching strength values, and building full sets of ship strengths. Some alien ships have powerful special abilities, so you will need to plan your defenses carefully.

Aliens win if enough ships reach Earth. You win if you hold them off, and you achieve a “Great Defender of Earth” result if you destroy every last alien ship.

Alien Onslaught feels like:

  • A shared, high tension puzzle against the game

  • Lots of table talk and joint planning

  • Big, cinematic moments where the outcome comes down to a single roll or card

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

  • Two ways to play, one rules system

Choose a quick competitive race or a longer cooperative defense, depending on your group and time. Once you know the basics, switching modes is simple.

  • Easy to learn, satisfying to master

Movement uses intuitive color matching. Special effects come from doubles, cards, & Nexus Trophies, so you can ramp up the depth as you go.

  • Highly replayable modular map

Hex tiles, wormholes, trophy placement, and invasion points make every galaxy layout feel different. You can push difficulty up or down just by how you arrange the board.

  • Flexible for different groups

Works as a family game with older kids, a race with friends, or a more involved co-op event night.
